Enugu Rangers forward Ibrahim Olawoyin has recounted his team disappointing loss against Al Masry of Egypt in the group stages of this season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
It was a poor performance from Rangers at the Alexandria Stadium after losing their opening fixture against Pyramids FC.
The Flying Antelopes failed to come to the party and subsequently fell to a 4-2 loss against the Egyptian.
Goals from Austin Amutu, Ahmed Yasser, Muftah Taktak and Hassan Ali ensured the Coal City club left Egypt empty-handed, but Eziekwe Chinoso’s effort and Saidou Simpore’s own goal made the scoreline more respectable.
Rangers would then go on to pick a paltry three points from their subsequent four games and ultimately exited the competition in the group stage.
Three months later, Olawoyin has displayed his disappointment at the defeat insisting his side gave up a good fight.
The former Abia Warriors winger, in a video clip posted on Twitter, also highlighted his overall contribution to the game.
