Ighalo too young to quit National team, says Obuh

Coach John Obuh has submitted that the Nigeria football federation should not allow Forward Odion Ighalo to retire as the player is too young to leave without any capable replacement.

Obuh in a chat with brila.net Said Odion is akin to late Rashidi Yekini for goal scoring, he might not have the skills but he has been the player that has bailed Super Eagles on many occasion with his goalscoring ability.

”I have not seen a replacement for Odion yet, he should stay in the team and allow the younger players understudy him and build confidence,’ Obuh said.

”If we rush on setting the younger ones very fast to take over and they don’t fit in it Will make the inconsistency continues and many players may be thrown away, so let’s not allow him to leave now,

The former Flying Eagles handler believes Ighalo should be in the team to up to the stage where he begins to stay on the bench for the successor to gain more confidence.
