Former Spain and Real Madrid Captain Iker Casillas expects to end his career with Porto and is set to extend his contract at the Portuguese club.
Since leaving Real Madrid, Casillas has found a second home and thanked the club’s president for helping him settle so smoothly.”Pinto da Costa has treated me with a lot of love since I arrived in Portugal,” Casillas said.
“This week I’m going to renew with Porto until I’m 40. I’m turning 38, so I’ll probably finish my career at Porto.” Casillas arrived at Porto in 2015 and has played 149 times for the club since, keeping an impressive 71 clean sheets.
Iker Casillas once said “Beyond remembering me as a good goalkeeper or a bad goalkeeper, I just hope that people remember me for being a good person…The Champions League is where the best players in the world come together”
Porto have been drawn against Liverpool in the quarterfinal of the champions league, with Casillas one of the oldest goalkeeper left in the competition.
