Isaac Success happy to pen new Watford deal

Nigeria attacker, Isaac Success says he’s delighted to have prolonged his stay at the Vicarage road after a new long-term contract with Watford and now just wants to repay the club for keeping believing in him.

Success has previously struggled to replicate the form that saw Watford splash £12.5m on him in 2016, but he has been one of the club’s best performers in this current season.

The former Granada of Spain forward told the club’s official website that the new deal is a moral booster for him and help him to focus on football, now that his future has been sorted out.

“I’m excited. I think this is going to give me a lot of confidence, with the club having so much belief in me,” he told the club’s official website.

“Watford is part of me, it’s part of my life, part of my career, part of everything that concerns me from Granada up to Watford in which Gino Pozzo has always been a father, a friend, family to me.

“I’m happy, all I need to do is to keep on working hard and give the club as much as I can until the end of the season.”

The player was at the receiving end of criticisms from the media and club fans in the past, but happy Success who’s enjoying good rare reviews at the moment agrees he struggled to understand the English premier league when he arrived from Spain.

“Last season was a bit tough going on loan and then coming back. I wasn’t fully stable and I wasn’t fully concentrated and I wasn’t fully fit,” he added.

“Right now, I understand the Premier League a lot more and I think being fit in this league, it’s easier.

“I was thinking skills and talent can do it all because I’ve got that and I’m glad about that, but working hard as well and putting extra in will make football easier in the Premier League because that’s what I was lacking.

“Now I understand how it goes in the Premier League and I think I’m comfortable now and I’m ready to go anytime.”

He, however, maintains he’s a long way from reaching his full potential but believes he’s at the right club to do so.

“I’m happy, all I need to do is to keep on working hard and give the club as much as I can until the end of the season.”

“I think my full potential isn’t out yet, I’m still working on that. The club has seen a little bit of it, where they appreciate me already and I’m thinking there’s a lot more to come,” he stated.

“I owe the club, the fans, and the team a lot which I’m trying to develop now.

“With time I think I’m going to get to my full potential and the club will enjoy me more than they do now, so I’m just working towards that.”
