John Ogu helped take his club another step closer to reaching the money-spinning, mouthwatering group stage of the UEFA Champions League.
Ogu put in a stellar 57 minutes in Hapoel Be’er Sheva’s 3-1 second-leg first qualifying round win over FC Flora [agg 7-2], just a week after joining following his World cup outing with Nigeria and subsequent break.
The player’s participation with Nigeria at the World Cup helped The Camels rake in £172,800 as participation fee in the tournament.
Hapoel Be’er Sheva next face a stern test when they come up against Croatian champions, Dinamo Zagreb on July 24 for the first-leg.
