Former Mamelodi Sundowns Manager Pitso Mosimane is set for a huge pay day according to reports in South Africa.
Mosimane, who spent 8 trophy-ladened seasons with Downs, reportedly handed in his resignation to club President Patrice Motsepe and an announcement followed on Wednesday.
Although the 56 year-old recently signed a four year contract, he confirmed in a statement that he has accepted an offer from an “international team”.
“It is with a sense of pain and sadness that I announce my departure from Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club. I have accepted an offer to join an international team,” said Mosimane a statement by his Agency.
Many believe the 2016 CAF Champions League winner is heading to Egyptian giants Al Ahly, where he’ll replace Swiss Manager René Weiler, whose contract is supposed to run until August 2021.
Mosimane has been offered a two-year deal and wage increase which doubles his current R1-million per month pay at Downs.
He will earn about $120,000 monthly about R2-million per month [(₦46 million)] according to Mazola Molefe [Soccer Laduma].
Al Ahly won a record extending 42nd League title this season and their Nigerian import Junior Ajayi secured his fourth title since joining the club in 2016.

Ajayi was in training on Tuesday, although he had been an injury doubt for Al Ahly’s Egypt Cup round of 16 tie against Tersana on Wednesday.
The Winger took part in training, oversaw by Weiler, after recovering from a muscle fatigue he had recently complained of.
According to the club, “the medical staff checked on Ajayi’s readiness before the start of the training session.”
