Kada city FC owner Ekene Adams has revealed the reason for selling his club’s NPFL spot to Delta state Government attributing it to lack of financial muscle to cope with the financial demand of running a club in the topflight.
Adams told www.Cornerstonenewsng.comthat football is big business and one that wouldn’t thrive under the current administrative climate where things are not well structured.
He said not having enough time to prepare his side beyond the technical side was one he couldn’t recover from and since he couldn’t secure necessary fund unlike Government owned clubs, there is a limit to which he can truly run the club in the topflight.
“We must see this from a business angle, majority of the clubs in Nigeria doesn’t see this from a business angle because they just see it as avenue to satisfy some people’s interest.
I don’t have the financial muscle to campaign and push in the NPFL. If my investors had come up with fund as at the short time given to start the league, I wouldn’t have considered selling the spot.”
Kada city will now start a fresh campaign which starts across the nation today in the Nigeria National League with Delta force inheriting Kada’s spot asset and liability on the NPFL table.
