Kano Pillars’ management has no power to sack coach Ibrahim Musa

The executive chairman of Kano Pillars board, Surajo Shuaibu Yahaya has revealed that only the Kano state Government has the power to sack coach Ibrahim Musa and not him.

Kano Pillars has won just once from six league game at the ongoing 2019/2020 Nigeria professional football league season and some reports in the media has it that the manager might be sacked if results fail to improve.

 

Surajo Shuaibu Yahaya, however, said he has no such power to relieve the coach of his duty and reiterated that the future of the Club staff is in the hands of the government who are the owners and financiers of the club.

 

“As a father, you can beat your child with the left hand and still bring him back and cuddle him with the right,” starts the Pillars boss.

 

“We are not happy over the club’s poor start to the season and I had to give that three-match ultimatum but honestly, I do not have the power to sack.

 

“Remember, the club belongs to the government of Kano State and it is only the government that have the power to take such a decision.”

 

Yahaya stressed further that the point Kano Pillars picked at Plateau United in Sunday’s match-day six fixture and the Wednesday’s rescheduled fixture win over Akwa Starlets are signs of improvement.

 

The Kano Pillars chairman concluded that the management won’t place any target before the team now , until their position on the log has improved and stabilized.

 

“For now, I can’t say we are going to do this or that. Instead, I’m concentrating on ensuring that the club stabilized.

 

“Our position on the table is precarious. So I want the team to return to safe position in the table and from there, anything can happen.” He said.
