National Karate champion, 17year-old Godfirst Samson says hosting more international circuits like the forthcoming Africa Zone III championship will promote the sport in Nigeria and also bring exposure to home based Karatekeers.
Godfirst, who won the -55kg event at the national sports festival last year, told Cornerstonenewsng.comthat hosting a Grand Prix in Nigeria is as important for the growth of the sport as it is for the Athletes.
She expressed hope that with more of such competitions, the best athletes will get government grants to fight in several major international grand Prix.
