Kwara United ready to challenge for titles, Says Bala

Kwara United, Abubakar Bala says his team is ready for the 2018/2019 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season that is scheduled to kick off Sunday, January 13th.

Bala who left Niger Tornadoes to over the team after John Obuh was sacked towards the end of last season said he will not be surprised should the team fight for the two major competitions in the country.

“It has been a very rough road for us since the preseason started in November but we are satisfied with what we have done thus far,”

“We are hoping to hit the ground running based on the energy we have dissipated thus far. We are certain that we will have a fruitful season.”

“We have had the best of preparations and we are hoping to replicate all we have gained during the preseason when the season starts.

Kwara United ended their pre-season tour with a defeat to Nasarawa United in Abuja on Thursday, Bala is convinced the team will pass the test of Sunshine Stars in their league opener on Sunday.

“Sunshine Stars will prove to be a tough side but we are convinced that with the amount of work we have done, we should be able to start the season with a good win before our fans in Ilorin”, Bala added.
