Leipzig new signing Ademola Lookman is “open to the idea” of switching his international allegiance to play for Nigeria according to reports.
The Nigerian FA has reportedly approached the former Everton player about the possibility of playing for the country of his parents, but the 21-year-old, who was born in south London, was said to be only dreaming of playing for England at senior level.
After the player completed a £16m move to German Bundesliga side Leipzig, reports has once again linked the player with the Nigerian national team and this time, it was reported that the player is now ready to switch his allegiance to Nigeria.
Lookman has represented England at U19, U20 and U21 level and his chances of breaking into the Gareth Southgate side is complicated following his decision to quit the Queen’s country, in favour of a move abroad.
Lookman previous spell with Leipzig yielded five goals in 11 games.
