Man United’s XI to switch to 3-5-2 With Two £90m Star Signings

Manchester United are still linked with a double deal for Harry Maguire and Paulo Dybala.

Maguire is being valued by Leicester at £90 million according to The Telegraph, while Juventus also consider Dybala at this figure, although this would be offset by a Romelu Lukaku swap [Di Marzio]

Signing the pair would give the Red Devils diverging ways to line up tactically.

This is apparently the most likely approach, using Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s preferred 4-2-3-1 formation.

This formation would give United great versatility in attack, with Dybala, Greenwood, Martial and Rashford all interchangeable.

It could cause defences nightmares, and there will be a lot of talent left in reserve able to make an impact from the bench.

This isn’t the only option though, as Maguire will leave the Red Devils strong at centre-back.

The Red Devils could play three at the back in certain scenarios and involve Axel Tuanzebe, with Greenwood dropping out of the XI.

Here is a look at how a 3-5-2 formation could line up:

This formation would put a lot of pressure on the wing-backs to get up and down, but an extra man defensively could relieve some pressure.

United obviously need to get the Dybala and Maguire deals done first, but this is a squad which really does have some good options available.
