MOTOPOL rewards another traffic officer for hard work

The Officer in charge of the Lagos State Traffic (MOTOPOL), CSP Titilayo Oriyomi Ilesanmi, has rewarded another police officer for hard work. CSP Ilesanmi had three weeks ago rewarded a female traffic officer, Jumait, at the Mary Land area of the State for hard work.

After the gift presentation to the woman police, She made a promise that it would be a contiguous exercise so as to encourage officers to be dedicated in their duty as traffic officers. At Oba Ankara, another traffic officer attached to Man Centre, Motopol monitor 140, Sgt Akatu Owoicho, got a gift from Ilesanmi for being dedicated to his work. She said:

” When I rewarded a female police officer at Mary Land, I told my officers that our duty is to free Lagos of gridlocks and that I would reward anyone that key into my vision of free Lagos of traffic. I went around Lagos and I spotted few good officers that are doing wonderfully well in traffic control. Today, I have come to give honour to whom it is due. Sgt Akatu Owoicho has been given a gift to appreciate him.

” What I gave may not be big, but it is a kind of appreciation to let him know that the Force is proud of him. We want to let him know that as he is controlling traffic, members of the public are watching him. I want him to know that his service to humanity is not in vain. I want him to be proud of his job because people are appreciating him.

He is loved. I want his family to be proud of him when he returns home with the gift. ” I also want to encourage him and others to do more. The Commissioner of Police is worried about the traffic situation during this rainfall and ember months.

He has given me the mandate to free the state of traffic. He wants people to move freely in the state. He wants free flow of traffic, so anyone who helps to free traffic is my friend and I will compensate the person. People leave their houses very early in the morning and after their daily activities, they want to retire home and to get home on time.

It is painful that after many hours in the office or business centre, the person will end up in traffic. Often times, traffic may be as a result of bad road. I think the government is addressing the issue by repairing some bad potions. I know that after the repairs, there will be an improvement in the flow of traffic. I also want to advise drivers, especially commercial vehicles drivers to be orderly and obey traffic rules and regulations. If drivers are orderly,, traffic will flow very well”.
