Former Technical Director of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria Rtd Navy Commodore Omatseye Nesiama has urged the Athletics governing body in Nigeria to simply think more of athletes centered programs and initiatives without which the growth of athletics in Nigeria will be nothing but mere wishful thinking.
Nesiama speaking in a chat with www.brila.net while taking a look at Nigeria’s athletics situation said the growth of the sports will be hinged on the approach of the leadership of the Federation which should continue to be athletes centered to get to the desired destination.
“We need dedication, we need discipline and we need determination in the system and in the system as a whole, it should be athlete-centered.
Without the athletes there is no athletics, without the athletes there is no coach. So if we think of the athletes more, then we will be able to get to the promised land.”
