A Newspaper staff(nameswitheld), has been arrested for alleged robbery attack on a businessman.
The robbery occurred last year, November 10.
The businessman had reported at the station , a robbery attack on him at Igbolomu, Ikorodu, Lagos.
He alleged that a gang of armed robbers who pointed gun at him and collected his gold chain, pendant and hand chain valued #3,429,350.00 alongside his Samsung Galaxy s12 mobile phone valued #280,000.00.
Other items stolen from him were: two scalers valued #24,000.00, a power bank and cash sum of 200 US dollars.
According to Lagos State Police Publlic Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Benjamin Hundeyin,”two of the suspected armed robbers were tracked and arrested at Igbolomu area of Ikorodu last week. ,
Base on their confession on April 1,Oluwatimilenyi Sunday,32,a driver working with the Newspaper claiming to be photo Journalist ,was arrested in his house. He confessed to have participated in the robbery attack on the complainant and that they sold the gold at the rate of #2,200,000.00 out of which he got #400.000.00 as his share.
” He said further that the gun used is presently in possession of one Alahaji ,who he claimed is presently in prison custody over another offence. Meanwhile others arrested earlier are : Jerry, 24, (gang leader) Ayukor, 38. All the suspects confessed to the crime and are presently helping the police in further investigation”.
