By Nkasi Kolie Oji
A non-governmental-organisation Ubulu-Uku Community Outreach( UUCO) will on December 22, 2023, bring succour to indigenes of Ubulu-Uku people of Aniocha-South Local Government Area (LGA) of Delta State with health challenges.
The group led by a Canada based Nigerian Philanthropist, Mrs Judith Ogunleye and Olori Maureen Kupoluyi, in corroboration with dedicated team of the National Asociation of Ezemu Girls School old students (NAEGS), have resolved to bridging health equity and empowering Ubulu-Uku people.
One of the founders of the association, who has arrived from Canada for the special event, Ogunleye ,told our Correspondent, that,”It is with heartfelt gratitude and unwavering determination that we address you on behalf of our esteemed NGO, UBULU-UKU COMMUNITY OUTREACH, dedicated to uplifting the lives of the less privileged in Ubulu-Uku community, especially concerning health and access to medical aid.
“As the Founders – Mrs. Judith Ogunleye and Olori Maureen Kupoluyi, alongside dedicated team – NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF EZEMU GIRLS OLD STUDENTS (NAEGS), it is our collective commitment to stand as a beacon of hope for the underprivileged, particularly in matters of health and medical assistance. Ubulu-Uku, a home and a place close to our hearts, was chosen due to its unique blend of cultural heritage and pressing need for comprehensive healthcare services.
“Our journey thus far has been one of impactful milestones. Through tireless efforts, we’ve provided vital medical supplies such as medicines, hearing aids, reading/curative glasses, organized health care services, facilitated medical screenings, and offered essential treatments to those in need. The smiles on the faces of beneficiaries and the stories of transformed lives serve as our greatest reward.
“Looking ahead, our vision extends far beyond our current achievements. We aim to further strengthen our medical outreach programs, establish sustainable healthcare initiatives, and foster partnerships both with local and international healthcare providers to ensure a continuous, robust system for the betterment of the community.
“Our targets are the marginalized, the ones often overlooked and deprived of basic healthcare. By concentrating our efforts in Ubulu-Uku, we seek to create a ripple effect, catalyzing positive change that extends far beyond geographical boundaries.
“To fellow NGOs, corporate entities, and compassionate individuals, our message is simple: the impact of collective efforts transcends limitations. Every hand extended in aid, every contributions made, no matter how small, fuels the flame of hope in the lives of the less fortunate. Let us collaborate, innovate, and persist in our endeavours to uplift communities, for it is in unity that we find the strength to effect meaningful change.
“As an ever-evolving NGO – UBULU-UKU COMMUNITY OUTREACH, our journey continues. We invite you to join hands with us in our unwavering commitment to serve humanity, to stand as beacons of hope, and to forge a world where equitable access to healthcare is a reality for all”.
Meanwhile, the people of Ubulu-Uku have expressed their gratitude to their daughters both at home and in the diaspora who have come together to organize such a notable project that will bring succour to the people.
Mark Chiedozie ,said,” we are eagerly waiting for the event as many of us are having one healt challenge or the other. Majority of our people have no money for medical checkup, but through this venture, we will have the opportunity of knowing our health status. We sincerely appreciate the gesture and the time for the event where our people will be on holiday”.
