The officer in charge of the Monitoring Unit of Zone 2 Police Command, Onikan, Lagos, Chief Superintendent of Police Uba Adams, has been honoured by Cornerstonews.ng.com with the 2023 Star Award in Crime Busting.

“He is presently doing wonderfully in Zone 2 Police Command, comprising Lagos and Ogun states. He is a silent achiever who does not make noise with all his successes recorded in crime-busting. He is doing exploits in Zone 2 Police Command.
“Recently, CSP Adams ended the reign of an advance-fee-fraud cartel that was stealing money from banks across the nation. The gang had robbed banks of billions of naira before CSP Adams and his team broke the backbone of the cartel and arrested its kingpin. Since the arrest of the notorious gang, banks and their customers have been relieved of harassment by the cartel.
“Recently, a young boy was rescued from his father, who brought him from the Republic of Benin for ritual purposes. The Monitoring Unit under Adams’ instruction and supervision rounded up the ritualists and rescued the boy from a horrible death.
“We could go on and on, but the fact remains that he is a thorn in the flesh of criminals and every superior officer he works under would always hold on to him tenaciously because he is a great achiever.

Consultants to Phil Chris Media Concepts, Comrade Christopher Oji and Ilo Jerry, who represented the CEO, Philomina Ngozi Christopher-Oji, at the presentation of the award, extolled the crime-fighting strategiies of CSP Adams, who they described as a great achiever and one of the finest officers in the biggest police force in Africa.
While Oji called on the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Police Command, AIG Muhammed Ali, to boost the monitoring unit and other formations under his command with cutting-edge technology to make them more efficient, Jerry asked for more patrol vehicles and logistics to be allocated to them.
On receiving the award, CSP Adams said it attested to the fact that the members of the public “are watching the police.”
“It shows that we are appreciated whenever we do well. I would say that this award is a challenge for me to do more. I am not taking it for granted. It will propel me to do more.
“I dedicate this award to my men, who have been working tirelessly in the war against crime. I also give my respects to AIG Mohammed Ali for always being there for me. He was the one giving out orders for the successes my team recorded. He is a workaholic who appreciates hard work. I return all the glory to him and God.
