Family of Police Inspector killed by BRT bus seeks government’s intervention

By Nkasi Kolie
Family members of Police Inspector Christian Igharo , who was crushed to death by a BRT bus on Abule Egba bridge, Lagos, has appealed to Lagos State Government to fish out the hit and run driver who committed the murder.
Inspector Igharo, was hustling with his commercial motorcycle and was conveying two passengers from Oshodi to Abule Egba, when the BRT bus crushed him and the two passengers.
While Igharo died on the spot, the two passengers were rushed to the hospital .
It was gathered that after hitting the deceased’s motorcycle, the BRT driver sped off without trying to assist the victims to the hospital.
It was further gathered that the Inspector had just been transferred from Lagos to Delta State Police Command.
A family source who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said,”My brother had just reported at Delta State Police Command and returned to Lagos on Tuesday in preparedness for packing hisl load from Lagos to Delta. He complained that he had no money to pack his load ,so he decided to hustle with his motorcycle, but ended up being killed by BRT bus”.
The family has therefore, appealed to Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to order the appropriate government agencies to roll out their CCTV cameras to enable them fish out the driver . This is where the CCTV cameras that are planted all over the state will work “.
