The president of the Nigeria Hockey Federation, Senator Abdul NINGI has called on the federal ministry of sports to support the Nigeria Hockey Federation they embark on International competitions in the coming year.
Senator Ningi told www.Cornerstonenewsng.comthat the Hockey federation has been neglected by the government in terms of funding for the past six years.
“We have submitted our plea several times and even complained at the red chambers but to no avail, I’m using this medium again to call on the government to do differently while charging the new minister to look into the plight of the Federation.
”Every funding that you have seen in the last six years comes from my personal kitty, Ningi exclaimed!, and some of the few members of the Federation, we do not get anything and I raised this matter in the presence of the permanent secretary and his crew in the National assembly to produce any document whether or not they have ever sent a dime from the last six years from the hockey Federations,” He stated.
