Flying Eagles Chief Coach John Obuh has indicated the need for an early preparation for his team ahead of the African Youth Championship coming up in January.
Obuh disclosed this in a brief chat with brila.net’s Pius Idoko where he reiterated the need for the Flying Eagles to begin early preparation ahead of the AYC.
The Nigeria U-20 team sealed their qualification in style on Saturday at the Agege Stadium in Lagos as they thumped their counterparts from Mauritania 5-0.
The Flying Eagles scored two goals in the first half and did more in the second half to confirm their superiority over their opponents.
The 2019 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations to be staged in Niger Republic has been fixed for 24 February – 10 March 2019.
Nigeria is arguably the most successful team at this level in Africa, having been champions of Africa at U20 level in 1983, 1985, 1987, 1989, 2005, 2011 and 2015.
