Secretary of Nigeria rowing, canoeing and sailing Federation, Olubunmi Oluode Ola has disclosed the readiness of the Federation to put up a good display at the 2020 National sports festival.
Olubunmi told Cornerstonenewsng.comthat the Edo National sports festival will aid the discovery of new talents and young athletes that will grow into future stars of the Federation.
“The federation is part of the group that will be participating in the 20th National sports festival, we have teams in Lagos, Abuja and other states that have boats and have registered. So many states have sent in their list and have been training…”
The Secretary further revealed plans to assist states in the training of prospective athletes and provision of facilities.
“In other to have a better National Sports Festival than previous edition, the Nigeria rowing, canoeing and sailing Federation have started the production of boats in partnership with a Portuguese boat company, this way states involved in festival can buy and train their athletes to get the best out of them.
Also, Since 9th January the Federation had opened their training facilities in Lagos and Abuja to athletes from different states who have registered and had Coaches assigned to help them straighten their techniques. “
