Nigeria’s best 30 Badminton Players assemble for African Championship

The Badminton Federation of Nigeria has invited 30 players (16 men and 14 women) to camp in preparations for the All Africa Senior Badminton Championship slated to hold next month in Port Harcourt.

Of the number invited, all but Tosin Atolagbe, who was unavoidably absent due to family commitments,  have reported to the camp.
In it’s effort to reach out and give fair opportunities to all top and upcoming players, the Federation has spanned it’s scope of invitation to all parts of the country.
Nigerian Champion doubts participation in Regional Karate Championship after Ivory Coast hijacked hosting rights.
National champion, Godfirst Samson is doubtful of competing at this year’s Africa Zone III Karate Championship following the decision of the continental body stripping Lagos of the hosting rights.
Godfirst, a national champion in the -55kg women’s category expressed concerns that the Nigeria Federation will be able to meet up with the financial obligation to airlift 23 Karatekas to  Côte d’Ivoire.
The regional championship tagged UFAK Africa Zone III Karate championships is for Cadet, Junior and Senior athletes, it is also the 18th edition of the competition.
