NNL to return once Government gives green light to proceed

Chairman of the Nigeria Nationwide League Mohammed Alkali has stated that the Nationwide league will return once the Government gives a go-ahead for the return of all sports events following the Covid-19 induced suspension on all sporting events.

Alkali speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said the machinery is in motion already together with the plan on the new format for the Nationwide league which will be concluded within 7-8 weeks of commencement.
He also added that as soon as that is completed, the board of the Nationwide league will thereafter wait to meet up with the Calendar to ensure that next season also gets underway in good time.
“We have already set our machinery on ground and we are waiting for the directive from the Government and as a  league, we want to use the new format and ensure we finish the league within 7-8 weeks to meet up with the Calendar so that we will be able to end the season and then wait for the next season.”
