NPFL: Plateau United Hold Heartland As MFM, Rivers United Draw

Nigeria Professional Football League champions Plateau United picked their first away point of the season following a 1-1 draw against struggling Heartland at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri on Monday.

The hosts took the lead in the 21st minute, tapping into an empty after he was set up by Onyewuebuchi Chimankpa.

The Naze Millionaires wasted a number of chances afterwards and were made to rue that with Plateau United snatching a late equaliser.

Daniel Itodo’s long throw-in caused chaos in the home team box with Tosin Omoyele tapping home from close range.

In the day’s other game, hosts MFM FC were also forced to a 1-1 draw by Rivers United.

Sikiru Olatunbosun gave the Olukoya Boys the lead in the 17th minute, while Emeka Atuloma levelled scores for the visitors 17 minutes from time.
