NTTF President Tikon Elected Into Commonwealth Table Tennis Federation

President of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation, Engr. Ishaku Tikon has been elected into the board of the Commonwealth Table Tennis Federation (CTTF).

At the Annual General Meeting held in Cuttack, India, Tikon made the six-man board and the poll also witnessed the election of a new chairman.

India’s Vivek Kohli defeated former chairman England’s Alan Ransome convincingly to emerge as the new helmsman.

Ransome’s 26 years reign came to an end at the well-attended poll.

According to the NTTF boss, “It is a victory for Nigeria and the Commonwealth nations, we will definitely keep working towards the progress of table tennis at home, and beyond”.

It will be recalled that former president of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation, Barrister Wahid Enitan Oshodi in May 2018 became the first Nigerian and African to head a committee at the International Table Tennis Federation, ITTF.

Oshodi is currently the head of the ITTF nomination committee, the ITTF is the world table tennis ruling body
