Former House of Representative member , Hon. Ned Nwoko has offered scholarship to three teenage orphans from Umunede, Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State.
The offer was given to the three family members Sunday, at Mount Ned Nwoko Resort, Idumuje Ugboko, by Nwoko having heard the sad story of how they lost their parents in automobile accident same day.
Hon. Nwoko, who was touched by the gory tale of the children promptly enrolled them into his scholarship programme.
The paternal aunt to the three children, filled with gratitude to the benevolence of the Star Prince of Anioma , explained the circumstances that brought her and the children to see Nwoko has been accomplished : “I am very grateful to Prince Ned for his kindness and show of concern for the plights of my late brother’s children. My brother, Mr S. Christian and his wife lost their life to a ghastly motor accident in Epe, Lagos, in 2005 and since then, I have been responsible catering for them.
But with the present hardships in the country, the load is becoming so difficult for me to bear. That is why I brought them here to see Ned for assistance. As you can see, without much ado, he graciously offered them scholarship awards. I am hugely relief now that their education issue has been solved .I will remain eternally grateful to Ned. I will continue to pray to God to grant him good health and long life, so that he will continue to help the needy in our land.”
Hon. Prince Ned Nwoko, a man of uncommon benevolent spirit, on hearing the difficult conditions the teenage students of Umunede Mixed Secondary School, Umunede, were passing through, instantly enrolled them into his scholarship programme.
While making the pronouncements, he said, “you should not loss hope in life because of the conditions you are passing through, rather you must brace up to the reality of your condition and strive to overcome them.
If you strive hard you will fulfill your life dreams. There is nothing greater to offer a child than education, that is why I am offering three of you scholarship to study, to chose a career that will enable you to become useful to yourself and the society. You must shun evil vices, be a good citizen, he advised the teenagers conclusively.
