Ogunbote seeks Support for Nigerian clubs participating in CAF competitions

Rangers Technical adviser, Gbenga Ogunbote has called upon Nigerians to support clubs that are representing the country in the CAF Champions league and Confederations Cup this season.

Rangers will begin their continental adventure against the Defence Force S.C of Ethiopia on Wednesday at the Cathedral with a comprehensive victory needed before going for the return leg in the Eastern African nation.

Nigerian League champions Lobi Stars of Makurdi Will also compete in the CAF Champions league with Enyimba the only Nigerian side to have won the competition in 2003 and 2004 respectively.

However, Ogunbote called on his compatriots to get behind the teams, adding that it is time for Nigeria to reclaim a place of pride in the CAF Champions league and confederation cup respectively.

“I want to appeal to Nigerians to give their maximum support to the clubs flying the country’s flag in the Champions League and Confederation Cups Competition.

 

The support will help propel the players to give their best,” he submitted.

 

Rangers’ Wednesday opponents has won Ethiopian premier league 11 times and also have 14 Ethiopian Cup in the kitty.
