Omeruo reminds Drogba of 2013 as he pays Tribute to ‘True Legend’

Kenneth Omeruo gave one of his best performances in Nigeria’s green and white was at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final against Ivory Coast.

Omeruo was particularly brilliant man-marking striker Didier Drogba; so good was the then 21-year-old center back that he got a pep talk from Ivorian Star.

Fast forward five years and Drogba announced his retirement from football at 40, dropping the curtain down on an illustrious career.

The announcement has drawn world wide attention and accolade for “a true legend” as Omeruo described Drogba in his social media post.

In his instagram post on Thursday, Omeruo shared two pictures of the now famous match in 2013 with the caption:

It was an honor to know you and play against you.. you won it all.. A true legend @didierdrogba wish you even more success on your next chapter of life.. much love boss #legend #drogba #omeruo
