Oparanozie fires back at attempts to shut her up over Equal Pay stance

Super Falcons captain Desire Oparanozie stirred up a conversation for equal pay for with the Men’s national team and it generated a lot of responses including subtle backlash even from her own teammates, but those loud dissenting voices won’t quite her down.

Oparanozie, who plays her club football in the French League with Guingamp, spoke at a Sports event for the empowerment of Women and it was there she opined that players of the Falcons were overdue for equal pay as their male counterparts.

Not too many bought into the campaign and in counter-arguments described the Nigeria captain’s submission as ‘misplaced priorities’.

But, the 25 year-old has responded to those hoping to quite her down on the debate.

Her Instagram post on Monday showed a defiant Oparanozie in the light of what is now a national debate.

Putting yourself out there is hard, but it’s so worth it. And i don’t think anyone who’s ever spoken out or stood up for what’s right has ever regretted it. Forcused attention. [sic]
