Osimhen comes off the bench, but Fires blank as Lille lose to Marseille

Victor Osimhen has now gone five matches for club and country without scoring, his latest shut out coming in Ligue Un as Lille suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat to Marseille.

Osimhen, who last scored in the 2-2 draw at home to Nimes, came off the bench in the second-half for Loic Remy.

The Forward had suffered a slight knock in his last outing for the club and was a doubt.

While the concerns over his availability were allayed after he returned to practice with the team, Manager Christophe Galtier took precautions not to aggravate his top scorer’s fitness.

But, the Nigerian couldn’t deliver on the night as Les Dogues slumped to a fourth defeat in the league and slip to sixth in the table.
