Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has been nominated for French Ligue 1 player of the month for September, after his recent good form.
Osimhen who has scored seven goals in nine league game was named Lille player of the month for September on Sunday in front of their fans before scoring the team’s equaliser in their 2-2 with Nimes.
Osimhen is shortlisted for top gong alongside Algerian forward, Islam Slimani, who plays for Monaco and Nantes’ Nicolas Pallois.
In the month of September, the 20-year-old scored two goals in four league appearances for Lille in September.
He scored in Lille 2-1 win against Angers SCO and the 2-0 victory at home to Strasbourg, while Slimani scored on three occasions for Monaco during the time.
Nante defender Nicolas Pallois has been an important figure for his team and played a key role in the club’s surge to second position in the table.
Osimhen who scored his first UEFA Champions league goal in Lille’s 2-1 defeat to Chelsea will be hoping to cap superb first three months in France with the award.
