Kelechi Iheanacho was lined up for seven minutes by Brendan Rogers at the London Stadium on Saturday in a PL match against West Ham United.
A dramatic 2-2 outcome, Iheanacho was called off the bench for his 29th league appearance this season, however he’s only played 89 minutes his 11 PL appearances since 2019.
Saturday was a special occasion though as the embattled Nigeria international went up against his former Manager; the man who gave him his PL debut as a Manchester EDS graduate, Manuel Pellegrini.
Under Pellegrini’s watch the striker quickly turned into a premier league sensation, he made 35 appearances in all competitions scoring 14 goals for Manchester City.
After the game he tweeted a photo; albeit not about the Manager, with the caption: Never give up. Good team spirit to come back in the game
