Lagos State Commissioner of Police , Mr Imohimi Edgal has explained why the police place high premium on expatriates and diplomats saying that they assist in crime fighting
CP Edgal who spoke yesterday during a courtesy visit to his office in Ikeja by South Korean Consular General to Nigeria , Mr Tim In- Taek , said , “we place very high premium on expatriate and diplomatic foreigners here in Lagos, as they play a vital role not only because they stabilize the economy of the state but they provide employment to the citizens of the state.
” From what I heard South Koreans provide jobs for well over 50,000 Lagosians, which is huge. Of course from the security point of view, when our citizens are employed they take less to crime because they are not idle, so we are happy that South Koreans businessmen are in Lagos.
We are happy that you are here to further cement the relationship between the local police and Koreans nationals in Lagos.
” I want to assure you on behalf of myself, the officers, and men we will continue to do our best in providing adequate security not only for your personnel, but also for your facilities and business here in Lagos.
I see this visit as the opening of a new vista to improve police and Korean relationship Let me assure you that in the earliest possible time, I intend to pay you a visit to further cement the relationship
Earlier, Mr. Tim In- Taek, commended the Command for securing the lives of Korean citizens in Lagos State saying the country has many citizens that are doing business in the state.
He said :” I have come to see the police who are in charge of the safety of our residents in Lagos.
