Police ban political rally till INEC gives go ahead, invite Hon Kuye over the death of 2 Cultists

The two casualties were claimed by the police to be notorious cult leaders who were killed by a rival cult group.

The man who organised the rally, Hon. Ademorin Kuye has been invited by the Police for allegedly organising a gathering without informing the Force.

Following the development, Commissioner of Police, Mr. Imohimi Edgal, has therefore banned political rally until the Independent National Electoral Commission( INEC), gives the go ahead for a political rally to commence in the state.

Edgal warned that henceforth, any politician who organises political rally till INEC gives the go ahead would be made to face the law.

The cult leaders, Ibrahim (aka Small Japron ) and Solo were killed Yesterday at a political gathering organised by Hon. Ademorin Kuye at Home Touch, 228, Ikorodu Road by Obanikoro Way.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Lagos State Police Command , CSP Chike Oti said :” The deceased persons, who were involved in several cult clashes, were on the wanted list of the police for leading several cult fights in the Shomolu, Bariga, Fadeyi and Ojuelegba areas of the state.

They were trailed to the gathering by a rival cult group who invaded the arena and began to attack people. The fight was however, brought to an end by the police who arrived quickly at the scene and made some arrests.

Unfortunately for the notorious cultists, Ibrahim (a.k.a Japron) and Solo, they died as a result of injuries sustained during the fight.

” Recall that the Command had on September 10, 2018, issued a press statement warning politicians not to gather in public places without notifying the force to enable adequate provision of security and prevent hoodlums from hijacking such events.

Regrettably, the host of the political meeting, Hon. Ademorin Kuye, did not inform the police of his intention to host his supporters.

” Meanwhile, 21 persons have so far been arrested in connection with the case and are being interrogated by homicide detectives attached to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) Panti, Yaba. Also invited to Panti, is the politician, Hon. Ademorin Kuye.

” The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Imohimi Edgal has ordered a manhunt for the perpetrators of the dastardly act, vowing that the Command would leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the perpetrators of the crime are prosecuted.

He once again requests politicians to inform the police before gathering in public places. He noted that until INEC gives the go-ahead, political campaign at this time is illegal and those in breach of the electoral law will be made to face the full wrath of the law “.
