A Police inspector, Haruna Kaura attached to Government House, Owerri, Imo State has been murdered by hoodlums.
Imo state police public relations officer, Orlando Ikeokwu, said the lifeless body of the policeman was discovered after a distress call was received at about 8 am close to Shell camp police station and Government House.

The deceased was seen clutching his ID card in his palm while his trousers were pulled down to his knees.
Ikeokwu revealed that his service pistol was taken away from him while signs of torture were noticed around his neck and back region.
According to Ikeokwu, his body has been deposited at the morgue while the command has commenced investigation to unmask those behind the dastardly act.
