The Edo State Police Command has stepped up a manhunt for the attackers of the Founder, of Omega Fire Ministry, Apostle Suleiman, and the death of seven victims including four police escorts.
The Pastor’s convoy was attacked on Friday, at about 5 pm by gunmen, who shot dead four policemen attached to him, and three others, including a small girl at Water Tanker Junction, Warrake Road, Auchi area of Edo state.
A senior police officer who spoke on the condition of anonymity as he was not supposed to speak with the press told our Correspondent that,” we have stepped up a manhunt for the gunmen who committed the dastardly act. The lives of our men and other innocent civilians killed are important and we shall get their killers. I won’t tell you lies, with four AK47 riffles in the hoodlums’ hand, the gang I’d be more formidable. If the gunmen would do what they did to our men and are now armed with four more AK-47s, the gang is more formidable and dangerous.
That is the reason we won’t waste time. We are going after them and we must fish them out and recover our riffles”.
Suleman’s lawyer, Samuel Amune , who confirmed the mishap to this Newspaper said that the clergyman was returning from his crusade in Tanzania.
Amune said: “He was returning from a journey and he had almost gotten to the shores of Auchi when some assassins attacked him.
“Four of his police orderlies, among others died.
“He traveled before and just finished a programme in Tanzania the day before yesterday.
“He was returning to Auchi when the gunmen attacked him along Sabingida down to the Warake area, and Auchi shares a direct boundary with Warnke.
