Police nab man with human heart, 3 Clerics with human parts

The Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos of the Nigeria Police Force has arrested a man with a fresh human heart. Also in the Command’s net were four others including three Muslim clerics ( Alfa ) with a bunch of human flesh.

Assistant Inspector – General of Police in charge of the zone ,comprising Lagos and Ogun States Police Commands , AIG Lawal Shehu , who paraded the suspects including others for various offences ,said through stop and search , detectives picked a man with fresh human heart and the police were investigating to know how the suspects came about the human heart .

AIG Shehu said three Muslim clerics and one other, who are members of a syndicate that specialised in using human parts for rituals have been nabbed by the police : ” On December 10 , at about 0945 hours , information received by the command that Alfa Mustapha and his cohorts who specialised in exhuming dead bodies and removing their parts were noticed around Isabo area of Abeokuta .

Detectives of the Zonal Intervention Squad (ZIS) were detailed to investigate . Four suspects were arrested while exhibits of bunch of human flesh was recovered.

Shehu said in another development, the command received information that a group of fraudsters who specialised in luring victims, mostly women to their hideouts under the pretext of giving them business transaction, had lured Mrs. Onyekwere to their hideouts in Ifo area of Ogun State. Upon a tip off , four suspects were arrested .

He said the suspects had swindled the victim of a huge amount of money and threatened to kill her if she revealed the business transaction to anyone including her husband.

Shehu also paraded eight suspected land grabbers who were arrested at Iboko Mopora, community, via Ibafo in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State. According to him, the suspects were disturbing public peace and operatives of the ZIS were deployed to the vicinity where the suspects were picked. Various dangerous weapons, including a gun, live cartridges, nail sticks, machetes, and swords were recovered from them.

He said that seven suspected cult members who have been terrorising residents of Onigbedu, Itori in Ewekoro LGA of the state were also arrested. He said a locally made gun and cult regalia were recovered from the suspects.

He, however, warned that the era of impunity was gone, threatening to arrest and deal with anyone, including politicians found with guns during and after the electioneering period.
” I want to warn that the command will no more tolerate anyone seen with gun. Politics is the in thing now.

I want to warn politicians and their thugs to desist from brandishing arms during and after the election because no matter how highly placed you are if you are caught with a gun, I will arrest and parade you.

I also want to warn a under my command to be disciplined as I will not condone any act of indiscipline. Do your duty according to the stipulation of constitution or you risk losing your job. Members of the public are warned not to tempt policemen with bribe as you will be prosecuted when you are caught giving bribe to them”.

He called on members of the public to avail the police with credible information that would lead to the arrest of criminals where necessary.
