Geoffrey Anyanwu, Awka Two kids rescued from three female members of a child’s theft syndicate in Nkpor Idemili North Local Government of Anambra state were yesterday reunited with their families from Gombe State.
The Anambra State Police Command also handed over the case to the Gombe State police command for further investigation and prosecution. The children, Mustapha Abdulazeez, 2, and Wahid Yusuf, 3, were playing outside their family house with other children in Gombe State on Sunday, October 20 when they were abducted.
Parading the suspects, yesterday at Command Headquarters Awka, Anambra State police public relations officer, SP Haruna Mohammed, gave the suspects’ names as , Blessing , Tisiobi, and Faith.
He said that investigations revealed that the children were sold for N750, 000 each , adding that the suspects had initially denied their involvements but changed their stories after the children identified their parents.
