Assistant Inspector- General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Command,Onikan,Lagos, Mr. Ari Mohammed Ali , has charged the Commissioners of Police in-charge of Lagos and Ogun States to ensure adequate security within their jurisdictions ahead of Labour unions planned protest over the hardship inflicted on citizens by the fuel subsidy removal.
The AIG also cautioned labour unions not to go against the Law of the land ,but to conduct themselves in an orderly manner.
According to Zonal Public Relations Officer (ZPPRO), SP Hawa Idris Adamu: “Ali ,who was briefing the Commissioners of police stated that it is within the constitutional right of the citizenry to embark on strike and to protest peacefully, but any form of breakdown of law and order must not be tolerated from any group of persons or individuals. He advised law abiding citizens to go about their lawful businesses without any fear of molestation, intimidation and harassment as the police will be on ground to maintain law and order.
” Ali , however, dished out warning to criminal elements to relocate from Lagos and Ogun States as the long arm of the law will always catch up with them as soon as possible if they failed to relocate”.
