Former member of Federal House of Representatives , Hon. Ned Nwoko has expressed optimism that there was still hope for Nigeria irrespective of the challenges being faced in our democratic process as a country.
He said this at his polling unit in Idumuje-Ugboko, Aniocha North LGA of Delta State while exercising his franchise in the Presidential/National Assembly elections
The grassroots political mobilizer who spoke to newsmen amidst cheers from his teeming supporters after casting his votes, reiterated that Nigeria would emerge victorious from the current transition process.
He commended the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC ) for the process, which he claimed was peaceful and procedural apart from the delay in finger capturing, occasioned by the card readers.
Nwoko however, called on Nigerians to remain peaceful and see to the victorious end of the electioneering process.
“I am impressed at the turn out. My people are wonderful people, they had been patient since morning to cast their votes. Irrespective of the challenges of the card readers, they have remained peaceful, supportive to the officials and still patiently waiting to cast their votes.
As Nigerians, we must do everything possible to support Nigeria to win and come out great. It’s not about individual, it’s about contributing to making Nigeria great as a unique creation of God”, Ned Nwoko advised.
He said that Nigerians should not be pessimistic but optimistic that things would get better in the country.
He called on youths to shun violence and channel their energies to the things that would advance their course and not things that would tarnish their images and that of their parents and communities in general .
