Africa’s number one Aruna Quadri has been knocked out of the ongoing ITTF Bulgarian Open on Sunday.
A 4-1 (11-6, 12-14, 11-2, 11-8, 12-10) loss in the semi finals to China’s Zhao Zihao marks the end of the journey for Aruna Quadri at the tournament.
It’s been a spectacular run by the Nigerian this past couple of weeks , haven started his journey in the tournament with a 4-3 win over Chinese Ma Te to halt the unbeaten run of the Asian star.
In the round of the 16 tie, the Nigerian defeated Hong Kong’s Chung Ting Wung in a close contest.
It could be recalled that Quadri bounced back from his shock semi-final defeat to Omar Asar of Egypt in the ITTF African Cup to retain his Nigerian open title last week.
