Rivers United and Lobi Stars both recorded wins on the road in the NPFL on Sunday, as the title race heats up in the top division.
A trip to Nnewi for Stanley Eguma’s side saw them come away with a comfortable 2-0 win over Heartland FC.
Meanwhile, Lobi Stars were visitors to Kwara United in Ilorin and a single Otakho Aghahowa goal was enough for Gbenga Ogunbote’s men.
Both Rivers United and Lobi Stars are tied on 39 points, in second and third positions respectively.
They are a point behind leaders Plateau United that held off Jigawa Golden Stars to win 2-1 in Jos.
Champions Enyimba were not in action in the NPFL on Sunday as their fixture against Katsina United was moved due to the former’s Continental engagement.
