South Africa Capable Of Eliminating Nigeria – Thembinkosi Lorch

South Africa forward Thembinkosi Lorch, Says his side can fly past next opponents Nigeria and go all the way to clinch their second Africa Cup of Nations title in Egypt.

The Orlando Pirates attacker scored the only goal of the game that knocked out the Pharaohs of Egypt to set up another mouthwatering clash with the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the process, however, he opined that his country has what it takes to take the title back home for the first time since 1996.

 

“It was possible [to win Afcon] from the start and now it’s all in our hands. We just have to believe that we can do it but we must not put pressure on ourselves you know,” Lorch told the media.

 

The attacker added that Nigeria is another difficult opponents, and his team must adhere to the instruction of the Staut Baxter led technical crew, if they are to earn another famous victory.

 

“We have to apply what the coaches are telling us and deliver. Yeah, against Egypt, the instruction was that we must press them high, obviously, they were watching our previous game and they were surprised when we pressed them high and it worked for us”. He added.

 

The Super Eagles who defeated reigning champions Cameroon on Saturday, will have a chance to avenge the 2 -0 home loss they suffered in the hands of the South Africans during the qualifiers.
