Super Falcons not under Pressure and won’t Bow Twice to Banyana – Danjuma

Former Super Falcons Coach Chris Danjuma says he expects the team’s psychologist will be busy in the build up to the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations final against South Africa on Saturday.

Nigeria reached the final of the tournament following a nervy penalty shoot out victory over Cameroon in the semi-final as they continue the title defence bid.

However, the Falcons must over the pressure of facing South Africa’s Banyana Banyana; the only team to have handed them a defeat so far in Ghana.

Thembi Kgatlana’s 85th minute strike sunk Nigerian hearts in the opening group game between the sides, but the Nigerian Ladies won’t be under an pressure going up against Banyana, Danjuma told Brila.net.

‘I don’t think Nigeria is under pressure. The reason being, normally when you beat a team and they are coming back, you either want to establish what you started or you want to take them lightly.

‘And there is no team that will come and bow to you twice, the team that will not come and bow to you twice will be more calmer, they’ll not rush and will feel no anxiety.’

‘So I think that we’ll not be under pressure. The team psychology will have a lot to do, perhaps make the girls understand that was the first game and this is the final where we need to be at our best,’ Danjuma explained.

The sides clash in the final on Saturday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
