Super Falcons ready to compete — Oshoala

Current African Women’s player of the year, Asisat Oshoala is excited to compete at the Women’s AFCON again.

The tournament is making a return after a four year break.

The last edition was slated to take place in Cameroon between January 9 and February 6, 2021, but it was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak.

The tournament is now making a return in grand style with the number of teams increased from traditional eight to twelve.

“We are excited the African Women’s Championship is back after some years off.”

“It was cancelled the last time. So we are happy to have the tournament back and we want to compete with the powerhouses in Africa.”

“It is great to have more team competing at the tournament. It is good for development of African soccer as some countries will get exposure they deserve and it will help their domestic league.” She said told NFF TV.
