The four promoted team won’t be push overs, Says NNL Boss

The Chairman of the Nigeria National League, Chidi Offor Okenwa has hailed the President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick for his timely intervention after NNL Super Eight play-off finally kick-off in Aba on Sunday.

After several crisis the tournament that will determine the four teams that will secure promotion tickets to the NPFL  did kickoff today at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba with four matches played.

 

Chidi Offor Okenwa, however, thanked the CAF first Vice president for the role he played in making the play-off sees the light of the day after several misunderstanding because of the eight teams, NFF and LMC.

 

“I want to start by thanking the Nigeria Football Federation headed by the President, Amaju Pinnick and others for making it possible for us to be here doing this very beautiful business,” he told the media.

 

“I take exception to the controversies. All those involved in this sport are youth irrespective of their age. You know what happens to youth, they agree to disagree and vice versa. There were family issues they were teething but they had been resolved. We have done what we are supposed to do in terms of organization of the tournament.

 

He, however, added that the four teams that will be promoted to the NPFL next won’t be pushovers , As the aim of the super eight is to make sure the NNL produce perfect representatives to the NPFL.

 

“We are looking forward to the gladiators-the players to do the very needful which is the delivery of the best teams to the NPFL. We expect them to compete in the NPFL and not just to participate.”
