Nigeria Men’s table tennis national team player Segun Toriola has stated that he earnestly hopes Nigeria and Africa number one table tennis player Quadri Aruna wins the men’s Singles semi final tie against Egypt’s Omar Assar so as to help set up an all Nigerian final in the final of the men’s Singles table tennis event at the Africa games.
Toriola speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said he wants Nigeria to use this to get an advantage over Egypt with the other semi final tie between himself and Jide Omotayo.
Toriola also talked about his game against Jide Omotayo stating that he truly wants to see the challenge from his protégé although said he wouldn’t be going over board like playing against an opponent from another country.
“Aruna against Omar is very important for us because we want two Nigerians in the final so that the Egyptians will have nothing else than the Bronze. And I believe normally Aruna with Omar is 50/50 but I believe Aruna still has a little bit edge if he plays with full confidence.”
“And playing against Jide, it means a lot for him especially and he’s my boy, he’s someone I encourage a lot. So I’m going to take it easy because I’m going to see what he can do and what I can do.”
