Flying Eagles coach, Paul Aigbogun has shrugged off the disappointing draw against the Amajita of South Africa and has declared that his team’s target is to scale the final group match hurdle against host nation, Niger Republic.
Aigbogun stated that the immediate target is to qualify from the group and not necessarily defeating Niger Republic.
“If we win against Niger great, if not then a point is fine to secure advancement in the competition, however it will be very dangerous going into the next game with the mindset of picking a point”, he said.
Nigeria tops the group with 4 points from 2 matches while the South Africa would need an outright win against Burundi on Friday to book a world cup spot.
The Flying Eagles will play against Niger Republic on Friday on Niamey.
