Udeze reveals how players informed Eguavoen about Ghana game plan

Ifeanyi Udeze believes Austine Eguavoen-led technical crew did not have enough information about the Black Stars of Ghana before the World Cup qualifying playoff.

Austine Eguaveon’s third reign in charge of the senior national team ended in acrimony as the team failed to qualify for the FIFA World Cup.

The team needed to beat Ghana at home to qualify for the Mundial but fell short as Ghana managed to snatch a 1-1 draw which was enough to take them to the World Cup.

In an interview with Brila FM, Udeze questioned some of the decisions of the coaching crew, especially after the Black Stars switched to back five.

“Some of his decisions during the game (versus Ghana) also didn’t show he had enough information about the opponents he was playing (against).”

“I find it very annoying to know that it was an Eagles player that informed the technical crew that the Ghanaian team had switched to a back five at halftime when we introduced Abdullahi Shehu.

“We had a creative player in Akinkunmi Amoo who should have been introduced to help the team from the bench but that did not happen.” He said.
