Akwa United player Ndifreke Efiong has stated that Akwa United hope to boost their chances of playing in the CAF Confederations Cup by winning the AITEO Federations Cup.
The forward said the team wants to consolidate on winning the AITEO competition to get to play continental football in CAF, after their disappointing performance at the super six that was held in Lagos.
Ndifreke told brila.net in a chat exclusively, after their 2-1 win against Sokoto United at their opening AITEO match at FIFA goal project pitch inside the national stadium Abuja, that their aim is to leverage on the AITEO cup and get the only last slot that will catapult them to the CAF Confederation Cup.
”We were disappointed in Lagos at the super six by our performances, now, here we are again with another chance to get the ticket to play at the continent.
